Neurostructural Integration Technique

Course Description

This is not just another course; It's an investment into your future!

The Neurostructural Integration Technique (NST) is a dynamic and skilful professional bodywork technique designed to release muscles and fascia. The resultant effect of this is a comprehensive reorganization of the musculature of the body characterized by a lasting relief from pain and dysfunction plus an increase in energy levels.

NST has been inspired and strongly influenced by the LATER WORK of the Australian genius, TOM BOWEN. Other interpretations of Bowen's work reflect his earlier, original ideas however the NST is the only interpretation of his advanced principles to date, which clearly places this work in an elite class of its own.

Conditions that respond well to NST include problems involving

  • Cranial and TMJ
  • Lumbar and Thoracic
  • Hamstring, knees and ankle
  • Menstrual
  • Sciatica
  • Fatigue
  • Neck, including whiplash
  • Shoulder and arm
  • Respiratory including asthma
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Sacral-illiac dysfunction

The ongoing dependability of the NST will continue to delight and intrigue both clinician and client. As an example: Around 80% of all presenting conditions are totally resolved in 2-3 sessions.

The 5 day NST Basic Workshop covers extensive areas of the body, etc. This work is exclusively available for practitioners of healing and bodywork. The course is comprehensive in covering all major areas of the body, including sacral, TMJ, coccyx, ankle, hamstrings, shoulders and neck conditions, etc.

About NST

The Neurostrutural Integration Technique (NST) is considered by many to be the world's leading technique in structural and spinal therapy for lasting pain removal and rejuvenation!

NST is a remarkably effective professional bodywork technique, that when applied, initiates a process of natural auto-regulation to occur in the spinal column and consequently throughout the whole body. The resultant effect of this is a rapid elimination or reduction of symptoms, followed by an increase in energy and an unmistakable sense of wellbeing.

Typically the response to NST is most often profoundly effective, and more than seldom, miraculous. NST is essentially a soft tissue osteopathic-style therapy, designed to remove pain, physiological dysfunction and even psychological imbalances, by restoring the structural integrity of the body.

Its application is suitable and safe for all ages, from new-borns to the elderly.

As its main aim is to reintegrate the body-mind complex as a whole, it is often called contextual healing, consequently regarding illnesses as symptoms of imbalance. It is for this reason that there are no contraindications, essentially rendering the technique useful for a wide range of conditions from acute pain to chronic conditions.

From a practitioner point of view, NST provides an effective form of treatment without the use of oil, patients can be work upon through the light clothing, reducing laundering costs considerably. Due to the short breaks between successive groups of moves, more than one client can be worked upon at any given time. The physical effort versus effect achieved is considerably less than for other type of manual therapies.

From the patient's point of view, results are more readily obtained and sustained. The approach is viewed as more “holistic” as compared to other therapies. Multiple conditions can be treated simultaneously.

Faculty

Ron Phelan has a professional background in both industry and teaching before changing his career path in the early nineties and qualifying in Remedial Massage and Bowen Technique. He originally trained in Bowen Technique in 1996 and since 1998 has been practicing predominantly with NST with his clients.

Working in the Geelong region Ron has had the opportunity to treat many of Tom Bowen's original patients. This has given him an invaluable insight to the understanding, efficacy and history of both the man and the technique.

Ron brings to the workshop many years teaching combined with many hours of practical experience as a therapist. He is committed to the development and further understanding of this unique Australian mode of therapy.
