Course Description

This course begins the students training in the development of effective and efficient treatment plans. Localization of physical dysfunction, localization and recognition of entrapped emotional, mental/cognitive, and other energies, determination of the primary problem of the client, is all included in this first course in a 3-course series.

Learning Outcomes

The participant wil learn:

  • 3-Planar Myofascial Mapping: to locate specifc areas of body dysfunction; to differentiate between physical tissue dysfunction and energy-induced pain and disability.
  • Neurofascial Process: to locate primary and dominant areas contributing pain and disability; to understand the 'process' involved which needs to be addressed to correct the problem(s) causing the pain and disability
  • Neurofascial Release: as an effective, and efficient approach to treatment of brain and spinal cord fibrosis
  • Multiple diagnositc tools for understanding: significance, relationship, severity, chronicity, process and more
  • To develop effective, efficient and cost-effective treatment plans for all patient populations.

This course will cover the following:

  • An introduction to Integrative Diagnostics, Integrative Manual Therapy and the Integrated System Approach.
  • Clinical Significance of Myofascial Mapping.
  • Myofascial Mapping of the Spine and Extremities.
  • Three Planar Myofascial Mapping.
  • Myofascial Mapping of the Cranium and Lobes of the Brain.
  • Myofascial Mapping of the Viscera.
  • Clinical Implications of Myofascial Mapping Findings.
  • Metabolic Intolerence.
  • Development of a Treatment Plan.
  • Summary and Application.

 

Faculty

Jared Van Der Beek, P.T., I.M.T.,C is the Director of Athletic Rehabilitation and Sports Enhancement for CenterIMT International. He is Practice Manager of CenterIMT Cherry Hill in New Jersey. Jared studied Physical Therapy at University of Vermont. He has a very strong background in athletics. Jared has an extensive background in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT). In addition to Jared’s sports expertise, he has extensive training in the field of neurologic rehabilitation with manual therapy. Jared practices IMT on many client populations, including orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, geriatric, chronic pain, and much more.

Jared is teaching faculty for the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy (CSIMT) and Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation (DCR). He teaches nationally and internationally.
